THE GREAT JOURNEY IN TECH
We are all travelers I believe. All driving through life with one destination in mind. The vision, desire, mission that drives us through all incidences. The number one purpose that is kinda like a map which shows us where we are coming from and where we are going to, when ways become windy and our vision becomes cloudy. Back in 2019, there I was, a boy. A boy whose life did not have a clear purpose initially, a boy who decided that it is time to chase the dream of becoming a software developer.
I literally had no coding background or rather anything to do with computers and software. I usually had this belief that those terminologies were only for the geeks and geniuses with level Einstein IQ. Despite enrolling to a field that deals with technology, never was I keen with my studies, code was Greek to me and as you would predict, I failed my first year. I had to repeat my studies and that was my worst experience ever.
My eyes were now opened as I saw that I was slowly crumbling my future. I failed, but I did not want to hold that title forever. Something had to be done.
I spoke with three of my lecturers who helped me get through the traumatizing events and guided me towards starting off in tech. I was then introduced to Google Developers currently currently Google Developers Students Club (GDSC).

Google Developer Student Clubs are community groups for college and university students interested in Google developer…
DSC has played a major role in my journey as a developer. Various events, workshops and meeting developers in the process has really impacted my growth from how I view issues regarding tech and team building.
One of the people I looked up to, still do till now, is Vuyanzi Glorious . She was such an inspiration to me and a great leader. She always ensured that I was included in all tech events organized and I looked up to her in many ways.
You inspire me and I promise you that once I get to be like you, I’d try my best to be thrice the leader you are.
Two years down …
I have been acting as an organizer for DSC. Each day I have this desire of impacting someone’s life positively, just like mine was. From a lost kid, to an aspiring Full Stack Web Developer, I believe there is room for anyone with the desire to accomplish what he or she wills.
I am still chasing the great dream. I am not there yet but I believe I will. To anyone out there who feels like he or she cannot pursue tech because of some false belief, I would strongly like to advise that you should not feel inferior since you can do it and do it well. I am a solid example. I always say,
If you ever want to do something, don’t hesitate on it. Just get started
